NC Big Sunset - Belle Hollow Farms and Exotics of North Carolina

It’s hard not to appreciate everyday here in the Mountains of Western North Carolina

We are very fortunate to make our home here in the mountains of Western North Carolina. We established Belle Hollow Farms in 1993 and have been growing ever since.

We try to operate a sound farming operation raising sheep, pigmy goats and mini donkeys. The sheep eat the grass, the goats eat the weeds and the donkeys eat anything that bothers the sheep and goats! We are Voluntary Participants in the Scapie Eradication Program. A larger number of our lambs are provided at or below cost to the Macon County 4-H so that the farming traditions of Western North Carolina can be experienced and encouraged in our youth. We have received several Certificates of Appreciation from the North Carolina Cooperative Extension and the 4-H. This year we were chosen as the 2005 recipients of the annual “Friend of 4-H Award” for our support of their program.

We added the exotic cats in 2004 and are looking forward to expanding these operations. We are USDA licensed animal brokers which became important with the acquisition of the first Geoffroy’s Cat, Maya. We are members of The International Savannah Breeders Association and The Feline Conservation Federation.

Although we are not a rescue or “Not for Profit” we do our best to provide not only for our own animals, but for more and more “Throw Aways! ” that find their way to our farm. Once they settle in, they enjoy what ever remains of their lives in a safe rural setting far from the troubles that left them stranded at our door.

We STRONGLY support Spay and Neutering of all domestic cats and dogs. Any stray that finds their way to us is sprayed or neutered and given appropriate veterinary care.

We hope to enjoy many more years here on the farm and making many new friend in the animal community.
